Our Commitment to Iowa
Our mission statement leaves little doubt about what Pine Rest seeks to provide. This mission statement that can be traced to the passionate advocacy and work of our founders. In 1910, they stepped out in faith to help establish Pine Rest in Michigan to provide Christian mental health care to those in need.

Pine Rest extended that commitment to Pella, Iowa in 1976, when requests from local churches helped launch what we know today as the Pine Rest Pella Clinic. That clinic is now one of the largest mental health care providers in south central Iowa. In the 1990s, we saw a growing call for a Pine Rest presence in Des Moines. We discovered we could provide a unique, medically based Christian mental health service in the metropolitan area. We now have a free-standing Pine Rest Des Moines Clinic in Urbandale.

Extending That Commitment
As the Iowa clinics develop, we see a demand for additional services and programs. To meet those needs, we are implementing a Pine Rest Foundation Iowa Endowment. With the funds raised, the Pine Rest Clinics in Iowa will be able to extend the mission to those not being reached. Some of these areas may be a patient assistance fund, pastor support groups, marriage and family building seminars. The list literally is endless. We believe that securing the future of services in Iowa is extremely important.

For nearly 30 years, Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services has provided south central Iowa with a comprehensive array of Christian mental health services to individuals and families through the Pella and Des Moines Clinics.
