Kaitlin Johannsen, Temporary Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Kaitlin Johannsen is a Temporary Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Iowa. Kaitlin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Creative Writing and Communication Studies in 2014 from Upper Iowa University and her Master of Arts from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Belton, Texas) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2017.
Volunteering and working in the mental health field since 2011 has given a foundation of experience for Kaitlin’s desire to help others. Her professional experience includes volunteering with abused and neglected children at Royal Family Kid’s Camp, serving northeast Iowa as a Behavioral Health Intervention Services Provider, working as a caseworker in Texas, and counseling in the college setting and non-profit community setting.
Working with grief and loss are her greatest passions. Kaitlin has researched and presented on the topic of grief and loss and would like to continue to invest and focus on this area as it is a need in every place and person. She also works with depression, anxiety, trauma and self-harm amongst other mental health concerns.
