Kurt Hulst, LMSW, CAADC
Kurt is a fully Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). He earned his Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Kuyper College with a minor in Biblical Studies. He earned his Master of Social Work (MSW) and his Graduate Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Abuse (SPADA) from Western Michigan University.
Before coming to Pine Rest, Kurt worked at a community mental health organization serving clients with severe co-occurring substance use and chronic mental illness. Kurt’s experience includes working with individuals with substance use, anxiety and mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) also addressing grief, schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorders.
Kurt uses several different treatment modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths based solution-focused therapy (SFT), crisis intervention, and motivational interviewing.
