Ruqaiyah Rogers, LMSW
Ruqaiyah Rogers is a fully licensed master’s level social worker. She works with clients of all ages living with an array of mental health and substance use issues. She obtained her Bachelor’s degrees from Michigan State University and Baker College, and her dual Master’s Degrees in Social Work and Public Administration from Grand Valley State University.
She has worked across populations with adults, adolescents, children and families with her primary experiences being in case management, child-welfare with foster care and child protective services, community mental health, and maternal infant mental health, along with outpatient therapy treating adults and children experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, severe co-occurring substance use and chronic mental illness, co-dependency, grief and loss, and adjustment disorders.
Ruqaiyah uses a person-centered, strength-based, solution-focused approach to help clients make positive changes in their lives, using several treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. Her areas of interest include working with children, adolescents, and adults with depression, anxiety and mood disorders, adjustment issues, coping with medical conditions, family and child issues, grief and loss, relationship issues, refugee adjustment and acculturation, race and ethnicity, older adults/senior care, substance abuse, and PTSD/Trauma and multi-generational trauma.
