Tom Karel, MA, CAADC, Limited Licensed Psychologist

Tom is a limited licensed psychologist who has been with Pine Rest since 2000. Prior to coming to Pine Rest, he has worked in outpatient counseling through Mercy Hospital (Muskegon MI) and inpatient psychiatric care at Linden Oaks Hospital (Naperville IL). Tom provides outpatient counseling for children and adults in the treatment of anxiety, depression, bipolar, ADHD, anger as well as substance abuse disorders. It has been his privilege to assist individuals and families overcome their struggles and to grow in faith. He welcomes the opportunity (whenever possible) to include a person’s family members, pastor/counsel members or supportive friends in the counseling process.

Tom participates with Faith Community Outreach, an initiative within Pine Rest that seeks to connect area clergy, churches, and ministries to services available from Pine Rest; as well as develop new services specifically designed to benefit the faith community.
