Pine Rest Grand Rounds is a behavioral health medical education tool being used to deliver high quality training to physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, licensed professional counselors, psychologists and social workers. The presentations will present practitioners with state of the art, best practice or evidence based tools to improve the delivery of behavioral treatment within our communities.

    Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder: A Study of Demographics, Co-morbidities, Prescribed Pharmacotherapy and Efficacy of Treatment (Grand Rounds)

    This Grand Rounds will be a compilation of ongoing research by the Pine Rest residents on Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder. Limited information exists for this new diagnosis, so this presentation will highlight demographics, co-morbidities, prescribed pharmacotherapy, and efficacy of treatment for patients in the Pine Rest outpatient clinics.

    Postpartum Support International 2-Day Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder Conference

    Postma Center at Pine Rest, Grand Rapids MI

    The 2-day Postpartum Support International Certificate of Completion Course, taught by expert and engaging faculty, is a thorough and evidence-based curriculum designed for psychiatrists, nurses, physicians, social workers, mental health providers, childbirth professionals, social support providers, or anyone interested in learning skills and knowledge for assessment and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders This training will also discuss that vicarious trauma is an occupational hazard in child welfare and juvenile justice that often leads to lack of job satisfaction, job productivity, and negative outcomes for youth and families, workers, and workplace. Prevention and self-care can best happen when professionals are able to distinguish and identify personal and professional vulnerability. This module will focus on opportunities to prevent negative effects and self-care after exposures. 13.5 Social Work and CME credits available.
