BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Blankenship is a staff psychiatrist and researcher with the inpatient Child & Adolescent Unit at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Division of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

Dr. Blankenship went to medical school at the main campus of Ohio University, where she graduated in 2004. She then completed her Psychiatry Residency in 2007 from Wright State University of Medicine, in Dayton, Ohio. Her interest in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry took her further at Wright State, where she also completed her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship in 2009. An Autism Fellowship from Indiana University followed right after, in 2010.

Her passion in this underserved field of psychiatry brought Dr. Blankenship to Pine Rest in Grand Rapids, where not only is she working as a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in the inpatient unit, but is also the Program Director of the new Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship here. This program trains future generations of child and adolescent psychiatrists.
